Fleetwood jamboree charging system problems

Before you order the same brand replacement unit find out if you can easily install a Progressive Dynamics non-integrated converter charger instead. Many of us have upgraded from old type converter chargers to PD9545 (45 amp)or higher amp rated units that have fast and maintenance charge rates and that won't damage your batteries by over-charging. Have your batteries checked for damage from the old WFCO converter/charger. Batteries that become discharged and left discharged or overcharged can be damaged.

I would check the batteries first, then the converter. It sounds to me that your converter is going. I am actually waiting for the mailman with my replacement from best converters. It looks like a pretty simple swaptronics type installation. Good luck.

Those WFCO converters seem to have problems,as did mine in my 2006 Fleetwood Tioga. It did the same thing and I replaced it with a Progressive Industries converted/charger.

As mentioned call Best Converter Randy is very helpful and will steer you to the best replacement.

The converter is located in the lower portion of the distribution center. Here is replacement section from Best converter.
I would have the battery tested first. If it is not shorted the converter section is failing.

I have read a number of posts that indicate that model converter is known to have a short life --- combine that with your symptoms and I thinks it's likely that your converter is failing. Before replacing I would have your batteries tested (it's free). Hope this helps.
