"Flex Seal" for an RV roof?

I've been using "self-leveling" sealing on my RV roof(s) since day 1 ...but am curious about this "Flex Seal" product being advertised on TV.

Would it be any good for an RV roof....at 60 mph? Anyone use it?
  • When we first saw it, DH bought some and it was great......but, after a few months, UV got the best of it. It only lasted about 6 months and then flaked off.
  • Heard it starts to flake after a few years. Guessing it would be much worst on a roof in full UV.
  • From what I have read the general consensus is, don't use Flex Seal on a rubber type roof.

The Flex Seal apparently contains petroleum products that deteriorate the roof.
  • It is a petroleum based rubber so as long as your existing roof is not damaged by petroleum products it should be OK.
I would not use it on any of the rubber roofing products but aluminum or fiberglass roof it should be OK.
