flip out dinette table broken can't find replacement

We have a 2005 Four Winds 28 ft RV with one of those flip dinette tables that converts into a bed. It is mounted on the wall and you lift it up and it comes loose and swings down onto the edges of the bench frames to make a bed. The table edge got broken...not sure if the wife dropped it or what happened but would like to just replace the table. It seems like it is a strange size since I can not find anything like it out on the Internet. It is 42" long and 24" wide depending on if you count the molding on the edge it might be a half inch wider.
Does anyone know of a web site that sells such a size?
  • I agree with the make one (or get one made) approach. A rectangle of plywood, some edge reinforcement and possibly molding or other edge treatment, and some laminate or whatever cemented to the top, and you've got a new table that's probably better than the original. None of this is complicated cabinetmaking in the least.
  • Get a cabinet maker to build you a new one. We did ours ourselves, but many people can't. Plywood will be better and lighter. Edge trim or molding might be a problem.
  • I replaced my dinette table in my bounder to make it narrower and more belly friendly. got a 2 x 4 sheet of an Oak laminated plywood, used oak 1 x ? for the edging, looked better than factory. still have it somewhere around, put the original back in when I sold the RV.

  • Probably have to make one. MDF or particle board is really unforgiving, so making one from Plywood is probably going to bembetter stronger.
