flooring advice

I purchased click and lock vinyl plank flooring for my Motor Home. I would like advice on putting the flooring down as a floating floor or would I be better off glueing it down. I think it would be alot easier to install a floating floor. Thinks in advance for your help.

  • Floating is what the manufacturer wants and is just fine for an RV. the vinyl planks don't have any more expansion / contraction than a solid one piece vinyl lay. You will be very happy with that flooring when you are done.
  • engineered wood doesn't expand and contract
    dimensionally stable
  • In my experience (unfortunately) those are really not good floors in RV's. I much prefer a solid piece of vinyl where nothing "expands" and "contracts".
  • Correct. You don't (or shouldn't) want our opinion. If the product says floating, install it that way.
  • If read you read the instructions, I don't believe gluing it down is an option. Allow for expansion and leave recommended gaps around margins. Good luck.
