You're right - that is a pickup truck engine, and a weak one at that.
When we were buying our first DP the budget allowed for either full body paint OR the big diesel, not both. After some serious soul searching we decided if we couldn't fit both into the budget we just weren't ready.
Things changed and we ended up with both - we wouldn't have been happy without either.
I'd suggest you consider the same logic.
If you settle today you'll be a little disappointed forever, and usually a little disappointment now turns into resentment in the near future.
My advice - keep shopping.
