Florida cracking down on out of State plates ?

I wonder, can the hospitals afford to lose the Travelers? If not, it behooves them to see to it that their state legislators don't make it difficult to BE a Traveler!
It isn't just nurses, there are travelers in nearly ALL medical disciplines!

Again, my interpretation is that they are looking for locals that have out of state registrations, therefore bypassing local taxes, or out of state plates that are expired. I do not see it worth their while to harass every out of state plate owner. I believe that to do otherwise sets them up for a lawsuit.

Yes you are a violator. As soon as you buy property in FL or put kids in school among others you must get a FL DL and tag. There are some exceptions. They are in Fl Statute Chapter 320.

They track everywhere you go by your cellphone and Credit card purchases-ATM withdrawals. They are trying to get people who live there for over 30 days to become legal citizens if they have a home, move property to FL like furniture, other vehicles. etc. If you have an expired tag on your Toad, you can still load it on trailer and haul it back to NY or wherever and there is nothing they can do as long as the trailer is legal, (VA and TN have permanent tags) What msmith says too. I hope all the states crack down on taxes, I pay mine and it sort of angers me that someone would go to another state because they don't charge taxes. My Grandkids are in school. You are cheating them out of school money and us out of road taxes, then you ***** because the roads are rough.

Many states have a rule that when you move into the state you are to re-place your out of state registration with an in-state ASAP.. Most states give you a short period of time to do that.

I know Michigan State Police have written "Fail to update residence" tickets and we are not even going (far as I know) after Montana LLC folks.. These are just people who come have jobs and homes in Mi but are still registered out of state.

Other states have often done this too... There are reasons I do not wish to move to Flordia.. This, strangely is NOT one of them.

Jim, my current pickup, a 2011 Chevy one ton dually, costs me $184.35 for the tag and registration, for this year here in Florida.

Automatic License Plate readers (ALPR) are becoming much more common. Maryland Coordination and Analysis Center has more than 320 cameras on bridges, toll booths and tunnels that scan plates and run criminal records checks on each vehicle, automatically. In addition these LPR cameras are mounted on cars.
Recently a Florida driver was detained and his vehicle searched because the Plate Reader check showed he was a Florida licensed gun owner. Article here about ALPR's- (Maryland has strict laws on transporting firearms.....but lets not get all sideways about guns)
