But my best use has always been citronella. It works great on mosquitoes. I got tired of all the body sprays (OFF). What works for some doesn't work for others.

Seems to be an old wives tale and despite being scientifically tested has never been proven. According to this article, bags of water with pennies actually attracted more flies in scientific tests.
