FMCA "Benefit" is back

We have had FMCA for over a decade and do so for its own unique benefits. So the inclusion of this to their membership at no cost certainly is an added benefit to members. It may not compare to some of the other services like Sky Med or MASA but its free. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Some medicare plans only cover you in your home state except for emergencies. Will this plan transport you back to your home state or just to the nearest facility that can treat you?

The FMCA benefit is very limited but the cost reflects the coverage. For Canadians it is worthless. Most Canadians have travel insurance that should cover air ambulance. But those without that insurance will not get much from the FMCA plan e.g: If you are in Q and have a medical emergency where will they take you? Maybe Phoenix or some smaller place. Either way a Canadian will be bankrupt when it is all over.

For all the people that want to talk it down.....its a whole lot better than a sharp stick in the eye!!

I have MASA (medical Air Services Assn) which has many features, Including getting the RV home (And feeding the fur kids if I leave food). They also, pay whatever Blue Cross does not of the initial ambulance trip, pay to fly me to a better hospital if needed, or home to a recovery place or to a funeral parlor as needed. What is better unlike so many programs like this (I do not know about the FMCAs) to get that pay the rest of the initial ambulance bill feature I do not need to call from the scene, I can call them from the hospital later.

When My wife died they paid for transport of remains which was very handy.

Does this FMCAssist benefit cover air medical evacuation (say I crashed my motorcycle in Death Valley and needed to be flown to Las Vegas?)

If so, I will sign up.

If not, I do not see any real benefits.
