Dennis is correct. The total amount of the check is all that matters.
We are currently camping and I found the invoice for the tires we bought 2 years ago. Mount & dismount was listed at $150.00. Balance (beads) was $60.00. We received a nice value for our old tires (locally there is a good market for these, farmers use them for field trailers), and the tires were priced right as well.
Bridgestone R250s, 11R22.5's, out the door after everything, I wrote a check for $1515.00 for 6 tires. THAT's why I always say check with your local guys. You just might find the deal of a lifetime.
Most people just give their old tires to the dealer and don't even argue when they see the tire disposal fee added to their bill.
I have never gotten new tires where I wasn't given some credit for my old tires (as long as they were still serviceable).
In most cases, all you have to do is ask. :B
