for those of you that have dropped your gas tanks
Was the tank full of gas or did you empty it? is it hard to drop a tank that is full?

The fuel is going to weight over 7# per gallon. 50 gallons will be another 350+ pounds. And if you accidently tip the tank you're going to have a very large mess and a dangerous situation with spilled gas.
I'd figure out how to drain as much as possible.
