For years I never considered using a braking system. Had Class A motorhomes and towed what I considered to be light enough cars not to need one. Purchased my first 40ft diesel which should not even notice a car behind it. One trip I crested a hill at about 60 mph only to find traffic totally stopped in front of me. Panic stop requiring me to go off the side of the road. Needless to say I have had a braking system ever since.
