Great insight Garry. Thank you. I have heard from a mechanic that 460s run a little hot. I'll look into the Water Wetter product you mentioned.
I wonder at what temperature would I have to operate at for a few hours to do some damage to the motor. Is 240 to 258 degrees doing long term damage? The rig has never boiled completely over. I've driven up to 4 hours at that temp and I'm wondering if I've hurt anything. Like I said, the rig runs perfectly smooth..lots of power, no missing, no smoke, no problems except it gets hot on highway, especially towing. When I took it to the mechanic today, it reached 220 degrees in town...and I didn't hear the clutch fan kick in. Maybe that's part of it?
It is 110 degrees outside fwiw.
