Ford Dealers Won't Service E-450

When I bought my Jayco Melbourne 29D, the Jayco dealer told me that there was ONE Ford dealer in the greater St. Louis metro area that would service the E-450. Last week that dealer told me to buzz off; they now refuse to do even an oil change! Is this a nationwide problem? What in the world is going on?

    I just want to confirm the dealer really told you to "Buzz Off"? Nothing else?

    Then you posted this;
    "I overheard between two service writers implied that they may be in the process of de-commissioning it, for some reason."

    So which is it? Is the truck lift in safe working order? Do you feel the dealer was just trying to tick you off? Did you ask why they couldn't do it?
  • I have a Chevrolet Class B motorhome/van conversion. It has to be raised on an alignment rack, or a drive-on lift, as a regular frame lift cannot be used. One dealer close to me will not touch it, while the other dealer equally close welcomes me. You just have to find a dealer who will do the work. With an E-450 Class C motorhome, you have to find a dealer equipped to handle big trucks. A volume car dealer cannot handle it.
  • I just had the same issue where I am was told by one ford dealership they can't handle it. said to call the other local dealership, and they gave me the run around then finally said they wouldn't work on it.

    Yep. Call the Ford RV line. They'll help you out.
  • Same at GM dealers some work on MH and Medium Duty Trucks and some don't.

    I have found if the dealer sells medium duty trucks they will work on MHs.
  • These people who just recently pulled the plug do have a truck lift, but conversation I overheard between two service writers implied that they may be in the process of de-commissioning it, for some reason.
  • There are two Ford dealers in our local area. One will work on RV's and the other doesn't. The difference is that one has a truck lift and the other doesn't.

  • Local dealer here still does them and I get email updates that service may be due. This dealer sells lots of trucks also and was a fleet dealer dont know if he still is. They WILL NOT do any front end alignments however so not sure what other things they will do.
