ford dually valve stem issues

On my Jayco 26 XD. The inside tire flexible valve stem bracket continue to pop off and the flexible stem makes for impossible air fill. What have others done to make this a easier task. Thanks. Jerry

You are asking for trouble if you do not do something about "anything flexible" when it comes to air in your tires.

Try Camping World for a solution. Their prices seem to be competitive.

Save yourself a few dollars and go to a real tire company and use this kit. Basically the same as the other, but more complete.

I have no connection with this company and have ordered these for my 2016 E-450, but they are a division of Borg Supply a pretty old and big outfit. I trust their materials.

My thoughts exactly. I have DL1E, difference being "E" is for earlier wheels with 10 round "hand" holes and "F" is for 4 real hand holes used on later models.

    Top line front line valves!

Yep save a few bucks and put chinese parts on your rig if you want but I will not save a few bucks when it comes to something that may fail and cause major damage or an accident, but that's just me.

  • After loosing couple of tires due to dually equalizers, I figure out the only way to use them is with TPMS on top.
On my dually I have metal steams and no equalizer. For some reason the original steams are hard to reach with chuck, so I put 1" metal extenders. That is all.
  • The last thing you want to do is put those flexible extenders on your valve stems. They have a tendency to leak and if they get loose from the anchoring point they can flop around and not only do damage to your wheel but suddenly deflate the tire.

What is needed is a extended valve stem that will let you quickly check your tire pressure. They add no extra weight like the Extenders would and balancing is no problem.
The best on the market, that are the original, are Tire Man any others are Knock offs.

This is the set that fit your RV

Chuck is the original designer of these an he has been around for years. If you have any questions just give him a call, he is always happy to help.
Here is a recent thread on the subject.

  • Jerry,

Do you have rubber valve stems on your rims and are you using braided valve extenders? If so theirs your problem. Those rubber valve stems will work back and forth as the wheels rotate causing the air to purge from the wheels. You'll need to get yourself a set of metal valve stems on your rims, they won't wobble back and forth with the extenders attached to them.

I had this problem on our Class-C. Changed out the stems and the problem was gone permanently.

    Good luck
