Ford Edge as a Tow Vehicle??

I seldom start mine because my trips aren't that long on each stretch. But, running the engine is intended to circulate oil in the transmission, not to charge the battery. To save a ton of battery related issues I've always included a "charge line" from the coach to the towd. I've used this method for the last three vehicles I've towed and never have a battery issue.
