I think the American lust for powerful engines and acceleration will be a bigger factor than most folks think. All you need to do is watch all the car and truck comparison commercials to see that. The marketing folks aren't stupid, they know what drives sales.
If what I hear from folks with ECO boost pickups is true, the Transit will spank everything else out there, by quite a margin. I think anyone who takes a test drive will be very swayed by the superior power, and that may be an important part of the buying decision. The turbo diesel folks also lose their claim to low loss of power at altitude advantage, as the EB can make the same claim.
