Forest River Georgetown

I'm looking at a 34' Georgetown anyone else here running one? I'm close to buying but would like some insight to the quality of this coach with three slides, pros and cons.
  • I have a 06 359xl i have 32000 miles on it and no problems check everything.if the tires are original you will need to replace them soon good luck
  • ps you could get them to lower price for new tires the only problem I had this year I had to replace ac/ compressor on chassis I can not complain this is the only repair I had in 7 years not bad.
  • We have an '02 325, bought from the original owners when it was 8 years old. Our only problems have been water ingress into the dinette slide out (fortunately limited to wet cabinet interiors) and a non-functional Onan generator.

Once I got "under the skin", I was unimpressed by the quality of the cabinetry and electrical wiring. Rather than an installation of pre-assembled furniture and wiring harness, it looked like the guys on the shop floor had put it together inside the shell with whatever was handy.

The generator problem is the result of cardiac problems that made it impossible to do the monthly exercise during periods of non use. It sat for 4 months, and hasn't run again since. Not a big deal for us, since we're FHU campers, but I'll have to get it fixed before we sell the rig.

Other than these, no problems. Ride quality is like an 11-ton box truck, primarily because that's what is really is. For 5000 miles a year, we can live with it.
  • I believe 06 was the year Ford started using the 362 HP V10 with the 5 Speed tranny. Great engine & Tranny. Some 06s may still have the old 305 HP w/4 speed. If its the old engine/Tranny, DON'T BUY IT!
    I've had both.
  • we just traded our 2010 puma TT for a 2006 Georgetown 338. Our 1st A class. Read as many posts on forums for the things to check into pre sale. Most important is to purchase from a reputable dealer. Every item we identified to the service manager was replaced, no questions asked. Coach was well maintained as was the generator. Ride is bit noisy but we are learning to survive that as a part of the motorhome thrill. DO YOUR HOMEWORK before agreement to purchase.
