As I found out, stopping delivery of our newspaper while we were traveling turned out to be a notice to burglars as well. The police caught our newspaper delivery man sneaking around the back of our house at 3AM while we were on one of our trips.
Another plus for living in a gated, guarded, camera'd, HOA. Which means, our RV can't be on the property.
I've rented a storage garage for 9 yrs. The 'fantastic' owner hasn't changed my rent since we first signed up in 2007.
I probably only use it 4 months a year but pay all year long.
He also owns the RV repair shop and RV supply store next door to the facility.
I shop there often in appreciation of his generosity of keeping our rate the same. He did tell me that I'm his longest renter (out of the 100 RV garages).
