The temperature will go down to the 20s this pm and stay there for two days, very windy. We are in a 36ft Class A in an RV park. We know to disconnect water line but are there any other things we should do...pull in slides etc? We have a parrot and two dogs and are more concerned about htem than us.
Let the water run in your sinks to prevent freezing, pipe wrap and electric pipe tape is what we use. We Have two electric heaters running front and back with the whole coach heater, the propane, set to around 65. If your camping site is one that is experienced in cold weather you should be fine, if not they could experience frozen pipes and in that case filling your fresh wather tank is essential as is keeping the pump from freezing with the use of a drop light using an incandescent light, or a small heater in the bin where your water connections are located. Close window curtains and blinds completely. Cut a small piece of foam up into squares that will fit into your ceiling vents to keep from losing valuable heat. $8 worth of R13 insulation under the big slide, engine compartment will keep you from closing your slides.
