How can I make it easier to air up my dual tires, long metal valve stems or flexible screw on valve stem extenders?

I saw an E-450 tire blow out today.
They said "the tires are brand new".
How can I tell How old the tires are?
My tires are 5 years old so they need to be replaced even though they *look* new. (but also see the Michelin tire guide link below which disputes the five-year rule as an absolute rule) Which tires should I buy?
