freshwater system

We live in the Pacific N. West and will be leaving for California early October. Our MH is still winterized.
When is the soonest we can ready the fresh water system so we don’t have mold in the pipes and freshwater tank?
thanks all

If your city water is chlorinated the theory is up to a month in advance.. i'd do it about a week before if you are trying to stretch out the set up.
  • Mold? I lived in Seattle for 30 years and had mold, but never in those places.

    +1
    or
You could pick up a really inexpensive chlorine test kit from a pool supply store and test the city water chlorine level as it comes from the tap. Then every so often add bleach to keep the chlorine level close to as coes from the tap

  • yes it is city chlorinated water
how much is "little extra bleach"
    drink - bathe - everything.
    thanks
  • Will you be using chlorinated water.
Do you want to drink the water or just bathe , wash dishes etc with it while traveling?
If you are using city chlorinated water it should be fine for at lest a week. If you add a little extra bleach to the water you could get a month. The chlorine will gradually dissipate.
