I am trying to understand how the home unit like the Samsung is used on the road since you are not using propane to run it while movng down the highway for several hours. Do you constantly run the generator ? Carry nothing in the fridge until you arrive at a RV park ? Maybe run it for awhile and then turn off the generator ? If so, does the food and frozen items stay at the necessary temps ? Thanks for any advice.
Your question has been discussed extensively on this forum. We had a residential in our old MH. You can run it off the inverter, generator or not. In moderate temps less that 90 degrees on a typical 5-6 hour day, the freezer will stay well below freezing and the frig side will get up to the mid to upper forties. On really hot days in the 90s, I will use the generator part of the trip to run the frig and house air conditioners.
In our new Journey, I just turn on the inverter and forget it.
