When you hire an electrician and tell him/her what you want to use the outlet for, it's THEIR responsibility to provide the correct current. 'WE' as lay people, may not know the correct terminology to provide the correct outlet. It is the "PROFESSIONAL" to make sure they are providing the correct outlet for the correct connection.
We don't need to double check the electrician. I don't have a volt meter, etc. and probably will never have one. When I pay a "PROFESSIONAL" to install an outlet, THEY need to ask what I'm going to use it for, etc.
The electrician is responsible in my book.
