Frig POPs on Propane startup

My frig works perfect on electric. Sometimes when I switch to propane it will also work just fine. Most of the time when switching to propane I hear the igniter clicking then a big POP sound. It will then never light. Other times it will light right away. I've cleaned and checked everything I could. I haven't moved the RV is a week and it's on level ground. What could be causing the POP sound?
  • is it the gas lighting. Have some one else start it and you go outside and watch. The igniter might need to be adjust or the metal is not clean to produce strong spark. Did you check for spider webs in the gas tube or jet. Take a long stem match and try it that way along with the igniter. If it lights every time then igniter needs clean/adjust. If not then the gas tube or gas orifice has something inside.
  • Yes the popping sound is the gas lighting but goes out right away. I took everything apart and cleaned the orifice and blow out all rust. I will try to light manually with long lighter.
  • Then the gas thermocouple is bad, It sends a signal to the gas valve to keep it open after it lights.

you did not list your model but you can go here and get a troubleshooting manual for the correct model

I can see it sparking but does not fire. New thermocouple was replaced. Today I can manually light with long lighter.
