Thanks for the advice, but at $80 for bags or $350 for springs I decided on bags. If I hate it, I'll look into springs later on.
For those not familiar with my tale, this is a rig I bought for $200. It had been sitting for at least 6, maybe 7 years in a tow yard. It had a bad engine so job #1 was replacing the powerplant. I did that and have been driving it around for a few weeks. Handling was terrible and it was like piloting a boat in 20 foot swells.
Today the UPS guy brought me a new pair of KYB gas-a-just shocks. Popped them in and went for a ride. They pretty much solved all my problems. The ride is predictable and not harsh like it was before. I don't know how old the Monroes I took out of it were, but they had no damping effect at all.
But, I still think I need to address the ride height in the front. It looks like it might be a bit low which is throwing off the camber. The bags *should* do it. But, again, if not I'll spring for springs in the future. I do appreciate all the input - so thanks a lot!
