Front Air Bags for a 2008 F-53 Ford Chassis

My 2008 Fleetwood Bounder {Ford} came with air bags in back with on board pump, they were installed by last owner, was wondering about putting air bags in front since I have the on board pump, will this help with ride or just a waste of money.

:C
  • Well all positive reports with airbags in front, looks as if I am moving forward with my purchase.
  • I have an older F53 chassis and i pondered what to do to make the ride better for weeks until i decided on the Firestone air bags for the front. Like you, mine already had them on the rear. It was well worth it, but you need to play with the pressure to get the max out of them. No question, buy them...
  • Yes. I have installed them on frt and rear. Definitely improved ride. Our chassis is a '97 and virtually anything you do to it improves its ride. Money well spent.
  • Anyone else installed front air bags on a F-53 and was it worth the dollars and improved the ride.
  • Thanks for that info might just buy a set for the front, can't hurt and since 3/4 of the work is done, I would think keeping it at low pressure might smooth the front out, however its not to bad now but can always use improvement.
  • I put air bags on our 2004 f53 chassis on the front and back. I ran 65lbs in the back and 25lbs in the front. It did make a big difference in the ride. It also helped to put more weight on the front so I had less sway.
  • The Ford chassis,s are known to have a "harsh" ride in he front.I would think air bags in the front with a small amount of pressure would smooth out the ride.
