It isn't just Pad Life. It's what I'll generalize as Braking Effectiveness. How hard will it stop? and Will the Rotors Warp? Phil, you and Desert Captain, as well as Dittmer, are on the lighter end of the E-series (whether 350 or 450, even 250) weight range, so you won't see this issue as often if ever. Bryan was the first here to do this swap, at least to my knowledge. He has a 350 van but tows up around the E450 GCWR of 22,000. Ours is about 18,000 and even with brakes on the toad (Nissan Frontier) I'm glad to have more brakes than I did originally.
Ron... You have few miles on a very well maintained vehicle. If it doesn't need Ball Joints, then ask Quigley if they'll sell you just the Brakes. Or Brakes and the updated Radius Arm. There is ZERO reason you can't mix the parts. The new axles are the old axles with a boss added to attach a sway bar with end links. Ford even left the bushing holes for the poke-in sway bar they used 1992-2007. Your Roadmaster front sway bar will attach to a new axle just like now. RM and Hellwig show new bars for 2008+, but that's only to take advantage of those "new" bosses.

New Axle with Earlier Hellwig. If you're buying a new bar (and I'd get Hellwig, far less expensive for same thing) then it'd make sense to get the one for later model and connect to the bosses. If my point isn't clear, the bosses are round protrusion, milled flat, with a hole for the end link and there's rust on the surface. The big hole is where the bushing for the '92-'07 bar went.
