Upgrading Front TV

I just replaced the Jensen TV with a Vizio 32" E320-A1. We've always had good good luck with Vizios, but I agree with previous posts that size, fix, speakers, etc., may trump a decision based on brand. We had to match a swing-out bracket, and that turned out to be the deciding factor. Front firing speakers would be a plus, especially if the unit is mounted in a cabinet, unless you plan on installing a sound bar. Actually, I've concluded that the latter option is worthwhile even if the unit had front-firing speakers ... we don't watch much TV while on the road, but we do watch movies, and watching Jason Bourne blow up a propane tank requires sound with high fidelity!

I'd like to switch my picture tube TV to a flat screen and have 2 42" tvs I'm not using so either Sammy or Panny I don't care. What is the best and safest bracket to use. Anyone have pictures?

I just brought home a 32 inch Samsung LED. Now I can't wait to get the old crt out and deciding how I will mount it. A few weeks ago I think it was on this forum that I saw some great ideas, but now I can't find. them. I did a search about "Replacing front TV", but that didn't show me what I was looking for. Any ideas of what the thread was called?

Panasonic Plasma and LCD tv's in the house.

Vizio LED's for the MH. Get one with the front facing speakers.

Like a previous poster mentioned, when I made the change I took a tape measure and shopped by size as I has very specific cabinet modifications in mind. Based on dimentions and control buttons being on the front, I ended up with the 32 inch Samsung LED. I have been using it for over 2 years now and works great!

Have had the idea for a while of moving TV from front overhead cabinet to a lift system behind a couch.

Go with the Samsung. It is not the TV part taht you have to be concerned with but the mounting of the screws and how they mount it inside the TV. Right now Samsung is the strongest mounted TV.

Another vote for the Samsung LED. We replaced the old TV in front with one and we are very happy with it.

I changed out the 25" tube TV in front and installed a 32" JVC, (LED). Nine pounds verses 50! I went to Costco and looked at the brands and compaired pictures. I think it might be individual preference as far as brand goes. Others are right about the sound. It can be tinny and hard to hear if you enclose it too much. I installed a Phillips sound bar with sub-woofer, (behind the TV) because I like better sound for movies. It also has an input for an iPod or similar digital player for great music. I have yet to try to replace the TV in the bedroom. I just need to measure to see how big I can go and decide how to mount it.
