If the boss is the only difference, then why change the lower control arm at all? Could I simply change the brakes and be done? Or are there other differences related to the suspension-to-brakes that require swapping lower control arms?
The lower control arm (or I-beam) comes with new balljoints and knuckles, and replacing ball joints can be more difficult than replacing the beams. Also, the radius arm (or trailing arm) is an better design which uses hyme joints instead of donut bushings, which means there is no more binding and no more cracked and worn bushing.
Do you know if lower rated springs like the ones on my 11,500 2007 E350 will fit right in? I wouldn't want a harsher ride when it's completed. My front suspension has lots of CCC margin already.
