Front table '96 D190P ?

Hi, Does anyone have pics of their front table setup in a 1996 Dodge Popular RT? The one we bought has a wardrobe behind the drivers seat, with a metal tube attached to the face of it, but it appears to be missing parts & the (small round) table won't work. I'm thinking of making a new table, but would like some ideas. Also, does your drivers seat swivel all the way? Our just goes around until the back hits the steering wheel & it's facing the passenger seat. It would be nice to have it face the rear!! Thanks, Gary

  • Well, we've just come back from a first-time shakedown camp. You know, to see if we've packed enough stuff, or too much!! Anyway, as i was sitting in the swiveled drivers seat & looking at the small table that i'd pulled out of the wardrobe, i thought it's got to work. But it wasn't straightforward in it's simplicity! The table had a metal tube attached that went into the holder on the side of the wardrobe, but it wouldn't stay in place (it kept rotating). I then got into designing a new table & would of had to buy the metal post & brackets,etc.. I went on to other things & a while later, i noticed the drawer under the passengers seat. Looking into it, there was a strange shaped metal knob with a threaded end. & what do you know, it fit the table bracket!! So now, we have the original table working great (it just needed some adjusting) & i have one less thing to do!! Win-Win. When i figure out how to attach pictures, i'll put them into this thread. Thanks for your feedback, Gary
  • On our RT200 Popular there is only one critical part and it is the metal piece under the table that fits the table to the post. The post fits into a hole in the aisle which is under the carpet.

We have two posts which gives us the option on which table height to use.

If there are only two people using the table, we use the two passenger seats and do not use the driver seat.

There are four table extensions (one on each side) which give the table a four leaf clover appearance when folded out. No other parts involved.

On rare occasions if we use the driver seat, we swing it around no more than 135 degrees, which makes room for three at the table.
  • We once had a 96 190P Dodge and it came with a cloverleaf, folding table for the front. We tried it one time and stored it in the garage after that attempt. We always used the back table.

As to turning around the drivers seat, I could never figure it out. If you rotate it until it hits the steering wheel, then put the seatback in the most reclined forward position, you can skinny it by the wheel....some. I gave up on the 1996 RT, tried it once on our 2007 and declared it a fahgetabout.
