You will likely ever recoup your investment in fuel savings. Increasingly, fleets are turning back to gas motors. Ford says the F650 V10 uses about 10% more fuel than the 6.7L Cummins. I think the DEF-equipped Cummins are very compatible in fuel consumption to the Ford 6.7L.
Also keep in mind the diesel in the cab/chassis makes less power than the pickups.
I don't share your view on the numbers. My E450 has 305 hp and torque is 420.
The new Thor Super C puts out 300 hp but torque is 660. I can tell you which one I'd rather have under the hood of my E450 - and it is NOT the V10. Don't know why they shy away from putting the 363 hp version in the C. It can use it IMO.
Don't know if we will ever get another MH but if we do the Thor Super C will certainly be on the list to consider. Unfortunately Thor may not be smart enough to get our biz. When looking at the Thor site I used the dealer locater feature. We live just across the river from Detroit. The nearest dealer in Canada handling the Super C is in Quebec. I let them know in no uncertain terms that we'd never consider being that stupid. The irony is that we have an RV dealer less than a mile away. It handles Jayco and Coachmen Class C's. It also handles the Thor ACE Class A. One would think that this dealer could obtain a Super C - but Thor hasn't figured out how to market its products yet. :(
