Letting gas get old like that is not desirable. It will still be okay, but it will be very difficult to start with that stale summer gas in cold weather. It doesn't do much good to add additives to stale gas. The best thing to do would be to start it up, drive it to a gas station, and top it off. Drive it a half hour, then put it back to sleep till spring. IMO.
