Most of the fear comes from the fact that new class A drivers have a tendency to drive too far to the right of the lane and that makes the passenger feel like she is going off the side of the road...
So we need to ask the OP if they are using the backup camera to check if the image appears to be in the center of the lane. It is the one image sensor that won't lie if it is setup properly.
Could be the driver is not far enough onto their edge of their lane, but only WeMosey knows that (or doesn't).
The passenger will be further out in the edge of their lane also. In addition to that, the mirrors may be tweaked for the driver, and that new image to the passenger may be giving some discomfort also.
So long as the passenger can see the back up camera, and both the driver and passenger agree that the vehicle is in the center of the lane, then this fear should quickly pass.
It is VERY easy with my TOAD to look in the camera and see if it is centered or not. As such, as a driver, it is very easy for me to adjust to the width and seating position visuals if I can again look at the camera and see the TOAD centered.
Driving a house down the road is not the same as driving a go-kart ... expect it to be different.
