Whoa! I'm so glad I didn't read this thread before replacing my 2003 PW Excel galley faucet or I never would have.
I changed it because i found the space (height and distance) between the faucet and the sink to be inadequate for washing dishes. I replaced with a bar faucet and added a screw-on multi-directional swivel tip to the end of the faucet. Couldn't be happier with it.
BTW. I'm a 65 yo, skinny marink woman, and I changed mine in about 45 minutes, start to finish, right there in the Home Depot parking lot
