I would use a good adhesive like 3 M 5200 between the cap and the roof. Clean the area well wipe with acetone before applying the adhesive, then screw down with screws to eliminate the gap. once it cures the bond line will not fail even if the MH flexes and the screws pull out. If you are going to cover the seam with Eternabond tape your screws will be protected from water and won't rust.
