I too was sent into a state of permanent disbelief of how UNcaring these RV manufacturers really are (Newmar in my case). They very well know that one should NOT use anything that will rust or rot on any part of the roof, including the framework and supports and flashings and coverings and hardware. And, IMO any self-leveling goop is a joke (funny, except it's so sad). And, they well know there are such things as high-quality sealants/adhesives and sealing tapes(Eternabond). IMO with most RV manufacturers, it's all about making the product survive for two years, then it's out of their hands.
The education of RV roofs that I was forced into,....is a LLOOONNG story.
Of course, the end of the story is that it's all my fault, at least that's what I was told. I learned a lot about the right way to fix one of these roofs,....experience that I hope to never use again.
And now, I need to get back to the fun part of owning a motorhome.
