You can only have 1 regulator from the source (tanks) and the destination...ie, your grill.
The "Extend-A-Stay" style 'T' adapter connects between the on board LP tank service valve and the on board regulator. The accessory port (same thread as the small 1 lb bottles) delivers high pressure LP to the grill regulator. He'll use an additional adapter to convert the small bottle port to a standard ACME thread for his existing grill hose/regulator.
