Denver9, I agree with your latest assesment. We are now past the prime switch. That is not the problem because you are already running the generator from a gas can. How sure are you that the gas gauge is accurate? Another possibility could be that it may indicate more gas than it actually has, and that it could have less than 1/4 tank. I would put in some forty dollars just to make sure you have enough gas. If the generator still does not work, then I would suspect the fuel line going to the generator. Just be aware that if you take it to a mechanic, not only will you be using gas to get to El Cajon and back, plus repair costs, so you are looking at some two hundred dollars all together. Good luck.
