When I use the "Battery Boost" in cab, what does that actually do? I used it when my battery wad dead and it assisted in starting my engine. Was the use of it what caused the ScanGaugeII to go bad? It is after I used it that the lights coming on occured.
The Battery Boost button allows you to tie in the house battery with the starting battery so you can start the engine in the event your starting battery dies. The idea being your house battery is fully charged by the converter/charger, so if the starting battery is dead, you have a fully charged battery at your disposal without having to deal with jumper cables or pulling the house battery and putting it in the starting battery's place.
The ScanGauge may have caused the house battery to drain. Two months sitting should not completely drain the battery unless it is old and not well maintained.
