You are right holstein, kinda makes one think how on earth did the m/h mfgs get as far as they are, with some of the dumbest things they keep doing.
I guess they think nobodys going to be using their m/hs except in the winter time.
Another thing, why dont the exit of the genset cooling air being blown out, have a vent to direct that hot air out to the drivers side, instead of heating up the area where you could be sitting under the awning.
On cool evenings & nights, that hot genset air can feel good if your sitting out.
I've been doing some looking into vents for the genset compartment door. Theres some round type I've found that are scoop like on the outside with a 12V fan to draw the air in.
Say like use two of them, one at the top of the door at the rear & another directly under it to force cool air into & around the gen part of the generator where the air is drawn in.
A good idea, would be a manual 12V toggle switch in the drivers area, so that the fans could be cut off while driving in the rain.
Not a good idea rain blowing in on a generator producing 120/240 AC volts.
Those vents dont look that bad either, found them on e bay.
