I also have a 2011 Fleetwood 32 bh and had the same thing happen on my way home from Florida to Cleveland. If anyone comes up with a solution to keep the engine exhaust from overheating the generator let me know. Just one more issue I have had with this model.
I'm very tempted to buy an AC vent and install it in the door. It doesn't make sense that Fleetwood would block the fresh air intake with a door that's trapping hot engine air.
How about an exhaust tail pipe tip that faces down just a thought
In my case, I'm not really referring to the exhaust gasses. The hot air I'm referring to is the air that is blown through the generator to cool it. Instead of sucking in cool air from the outside as it is designed to do, my generator air intake is blocked by the compartment door. The whole thing is directly behind the front engine which produces a tremendous amount of heat. So rather than draw in cool fresh air, it is now drawing in hot air warmed by the engine.
