If the coach has not been yours all its life, I would check for some PO rearrangement of circuits and also check for and out the converter.
I know you think the converter is good, but you should check it out. Many coaches have had the APU (genset) charging system disconnected and start and run the APU off the house bank. That bank being recharged by the converter. But, if the converter is making it or the APU is drawing too much power, then what you are describing is quite possible.
