Generator exhaust question
Need your opinion, techies. I'm looking to route my generator exhaust to the roof only during football season (while tailgating). I don't see the need to invest in a Genturi. Could I use a larger diam...

I do get ever so much of a kick when I see people overspending on simple items that can easily be made for 1/4 of the cost. A Genturi is not rocket science; a 90 degree elbow, a 3" pipe, and an air gap. Wow, that's really complex, isn't it? :h
I think we all choose when and where to take the savings.
Your right.It appears easy enough to make a homemade version and I have the skills to do so.
The Genturi is a device specifically designed/engineered to save lives. I trust it been tested and verified that it works as designed.
I doubt any of the home made models have any kind of test or certification associated with them.
For the most part I do imagine most of the homemade models work but for 119.00 bucks. I can sleep better knowing I have the real thing.
It's not just my family's safety I'd be gambling with. When I consider a failed Genturi could harm other RV'ers around me, I feel better using the genuine contraption vs. my reduced priced downspout model. I'll save on something else.
