If you have checked the generator breaker (located on the generator itself) then it is likely that you have a failed transfer switch. A prior poster suggested that you tap on the transfer switch. That may work. The transfer switch is usually located near the main breaker panel where your main power comes in. Unless you have combined EMS system they are not too hard to replace and shouldn't be that expensive.
