- George_BeggsExplorerCheck that your gas tank is at least 1/4 full. Then check for gas getting to the corroborator.
- MahakalExplorerI definitely Check the tank in the morning. Thank you
- gboppExplorerYou need at least 1/4 tank of fuel for the generator to operate. That's assumining the generator is fed from the chassis tank. Have you replaced the gen fuel filter lately?
The filter may be attached to the bottom of the carburetor.
Let us know if a low fuel level caused the problem. - Isaac-1ExplorerHow long has it been since you last started it?
- MahakalExplorerI must have started in december. i think
- atsrmfExplorerMy Onan needed a fuel pump, circuit board, and a carb rebuild. I did the work myself and now it runs great. The difference is mine hadn't been started since 2000.
- Bionic_ManExplorerWhat fuel does it use? If it is LP, you need to check those tanks as well.
In addition, my generator has a couple of fuses on the front. I had one blow and it would not start either. - MahakalExplorerThanks Everyone. Will definitely look into the suggestions.
- AlaskaShooterExplorerMy propane Onan is notorious for not starting after sitting. We have mud wasps that love the smell of propane and they go up a black rubber vent house and deposit mud and clog it. I have to then use a coat hanger to snake out the crud and clear the line and it fires right up till the next time. To fight this I put a golf tee in the line which works great till the next time you go to use it and it won't start cause the line is plugged with a golf tee. DOHHHH, made me laugh. But easier to fix.
- Passin_ThruExplorerDOHH??? What is that? DUH spells DUH; DUH!
DOH a female deer?
