sidekick51, you might get more response if you would list what generator you have and what you are wanting to do to it.
Mine is a propane Onan 6500 and I've worked on it while it's installed and still hooked up. I had a problem when I first bought the m/h though and it had to be removed. I have a pusher so I take it out the front. There were four bolts on bottom, disconnect propane line, disconnect wires, disconnect exhaust remove the grill from the front of my m/h and slide it out the front. It is heavy so you will need help or a lift. Many problems can be repaired without removing it.
