If you guys want to let your generators sit for months and years on end, it's your generator, do you what you want with it.
My tech said to exercise the generator once a month under load. A diesel generator can run 30,000 hrs. before it needs mechanical attention besides the regular oil/oil filter/fuel filter, etc.
