Generator/Shore Power Work, Battery Power Doesn't

I did forget to mention, there is a plug/light switch that shows a red light when plugged in to shore power. But it works fine off the battery. I dont know if that shows anything but I found it weird. I didn't know if there could be a gfi plug that's possibly messing with the whole system.
