Well cost and safety of the refer (just the refer) favor res refers. Propane and DC not needed. However the additional electrical power has to be supplied and can involve shore power, gen, solar and larger battery bank and involves additional cost. This is all dependent upon how the res refer is used of course.
So if you want to convert to propane then you need to have access for refer swap, supply propane and DC and cabinet work. And you will have to cut and install outside vents as typically the res refer doesn't have them. Why would you consider this vs just buying a rig with a propane refer? :h
