The Samsung RF197 runs OK on a MSW inverter because it has DC compressors. The problem with AC compressors on a MSW inverter is you loose about 10-15% efficiency compared to a Pure SW. Not a big deal if you do not boondock but off the grid every amp hour counts.
IMHO the reason you are seeing more residential is because they have gotten that efficient, so even if you boondock often you do not need to run the generator very much if you have a large battery bank.
